…… attention to detail is amazing!!!!!
Funk wasn't even his main thing and he was amazing at it, incredible artist with a great band playing with him
Blowing the 🎺 destroyed his voice
Omg. That interview was wayyy took short.
This man has done more cocaine than Columbia…
Epic band. As of 2024 only Al Foster and Dave Liebman are still with us.
Miles also mentioned Earth, Wind, and Fire as his favorite group as it is mine.I have many albums of Miles as well as those who worked with him. Just think, out of the Bitches Brew album, jazz super groups Weather Report, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Shakti, and Return To Forever, were spawned, as well as the solo careers and influences on others. Simply incredible!
I was at this concert . It was at the Fillmore East after it closed and the other band on the bill was also tremendous. Paul Winter consort who were fantastic in their own right. believe bit was called The NFE- New Fillmore East. Too bad about the quality but that this even exist AT ALL is a miracle. Funny note ,as usual Miles came on first even though he was the headliner, which he ALWAYS did ,so when Winter came on half the house left after Miles. finished. We usually left also but stay and was glad we did..Winter and his guys were great in their own right but there was nobody there!!!!!
I worked security at those shows. I was 20. can still remember Miles’ energy like it was yesterday. Great to find this clip.
@ajdsp Cool..I was 19,my first Miles show was also at Fillmore East the june,1970 gigs.Theres no way we would ever have thought there would be footage of this concert and really not that bad- we've seen and heard a lot worse- and just amazed at it with the audio being decent. So yeah a great nite with a genius...
Why are my favorites so far out of Japan? #Suzuki Pitch Pipes🔥
Munyungo... most iconic moosecall in jazz music... he and whawha spiced this piece up so much...
Arsenio has great talent as an interviewer
Too bad he didn’t use that talent with Miles. Terrible interview, not one question of substance. Go check out the Dick Cavett interview with Miles, THAT’S a real interview with a jazz legend.
Most overrated musician. Terrible human being too. The Ike turner of jazz
And I bet you’re a great human being. Whom have you hurt? Lied to? Taken advantage of?
@@williemakeit2346Miles did a lot of good outside of his music they just highlight the negative because positivity doesn’t sell , he was not this monster ppl tried to make him out to be at all it was actually the complete opposite
That’s the great Kenny Garrett on sax with Miles!
Damn, he was in a good mood, and was totally relaxed! Good job Arsenio! ❤😎

The coolest guy
“Legend? I don’t like that….cause I’m not finished”
Miles is cooooool ... so cooool... thanks Miles for all that music.
What a wasted opportunity to interview one of the greats.
My sentiments exactly.
Miles half assing this performamce. Shame on the legend.
This was during the final couple years of Miles’s life and his health and energy were up and down. That was the most you were gonna get out of him in 1989. Look at any other footage of him around that time and it’s all the same.
@@williemakeit2346 I'm aware.
I wonder what Miles was saying to actress Sigourney Weaver!
Not somebody you want to interview.... 😐
to bad it don t sound like the original ,headhunter version by herbie handcock
I did three albums with Miles over 5 1/2 years.. I can’t even describe the influence that he had over me both musically and professionally, and personally. I learned so much from him.. I feel I was blessed to be in his presence every time we were together, which was many times over the years. He is the greatest musical innovator in Jazz history. So many people doubted him so many times, and he always showed us the way… sometimes it took a while to realize it.. I think about him every day and I miss him to this day..
What was he like as a person? I have heard he actually was nice guy when he wasn’t on drugs because of sickle cell but you know ppl blow up the negative shit
THE Jason Miles. Great to read from you on here. You did some beautiful synth programming for Miles on those Warner Bros albums. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
ua-cam.com/video/OrkXhfc0pTk/v-deo.htmlsi=xYP60tq3yuz3sB5P As a Solo Piano version !
Wish late night talk shows would have groups like this instead of stupid pop/rock like now.
Iconic concert.
This is one of my favorite trumpet solos ever
THE GOAT AND I MEAN THE GOAT MILES DAVIS. NEVER WILL BE ANOTHER LIKE MILES.RIP MY BROTHER ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS AND YOUR MUSIC AND YOUR LEGACY LIVES ON. 😔🎶🎶🙏🙏🙏❤
Smooth jazz.. Not real jazz. Shame on miles to b playing this c@#$$p
Cry me a river. Miles did it all in his life, and that’s what he was feeling in the late 80’s. His choice. The stuff you like will always be around.
Read Miles Davis Biography by Quincy Troope. Great book😊
hell of a drug
He was drug free by this time
4:3 zoomed to 16:9..... sorry, I'll pass
By this time , he was finished
Very entertaining interview.
Roy with that "Reunited" (by Peaches & Herb) quote at 4:57!!!!!!!!!! How I LOVE that boy and how much his musicality AND musicianship are missed. His heart was in ALL GOOD MUSIC...no boundaries. In addition, I'm sure it was also about the fact they were indeed [all] reunited. Unreal....How many of yall caught that??
one.of.a.kind.one.of.the.best.who.ever.did.it.miles 👍👍🔥
Been watching over over annnnnd over
🙌🏾🙌🏾
That's a cool fucking jacket god damn
Maturity and growth.
Arsenio is THE man. Best interviewer of all time. He really brings the best out of his guests. Mindblowing. Arsenio fuckin Hall!
The interview was weak.
